What happened to Uhmegle
Every page on uhmegle.com now shows one landing page saying you can now use Umingle instead, with a single "Start chatting on Umingle" button. The uhmegle.com domain was registered in March 2024. Umingle is operated by GREYFLINT LTD, a London company (UK company number 16783780) incorporated on 14 October 2025. We could not verify whether the same people run both.
A 2025 LBC investigation reported that Uhmegle needed no login or proof of age, that its reporter was propositioned within minutes, and that the reporter was matched with users who appeared to be under 18. FlashChat does not verify age either: it is 18+ by self-declaration, with no ID check, and report and block buttons are on every chat.
Paying for filters, or earning a pass
Umingle is free to start, with optional interest matching. Country and language filters, better matches, instant skips and no ads come with Premium passes (prices in the table, as shown in US dollars), paid once through Stripe and non-refundable. Its ban screen also offers an "Instant Unban" for $9.99. There is no gender filter: its rules forbid asking for gender and say "this is not a dating site".
FlashChat sells no filters for money. Interest tags are free, and a 30-minute match pass bought with FlashCoins you earn free adds age-range, same-city and (on Pro) gender filters, mutual and based only on what people show on their profile. Without a pass it matches a FlashBuddy who invited you first, then someone sharing an interest tag, then anyone, and skips are instant with no wait between them.
