By using FlashChat, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use this service.
1. About FlashChat
FlashChat is a free, anonymous, real-time chat platform available at flashchat.fun. It connects users for text conversations, video and voice calls, self-destructing photo and voice note sharing, GIFs, emoji reactions, message replies, Flash Cards, FlashBuddies, end-to-end encrypted Saved Chat, FlashDating, group Rooms, optional Profiles with timelines, FlashRadio, an Arcade, a virtual Casino Mode, and AI chat companions (including FlashBot). The service is provided as-is without warranty.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to use FlashChat. By accessing or using the service, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older. FlashChat is not intended for minors. We do not knowingly allow users under 18 to access the platform.
If we become aware that a user is under 18, their access will be terminated immediately and any associated data deleted. If you believe a minor is using FlashChat, please contact us at [email protected].
3. No Account Required
FlashChat does not require account creation, registration, or login for core chat features. You are assigned a random vibe-themed username on each visit. You may optionally set a custom profile (nickname, @handle, avatar or photo, bio, interests) tied to a device-generated ID stored in your browser.
Optionally, after verifying an email address, you may set a password (stored only as a salted hash) to sign in to your profile from another device, and generate a single-use recovery code as a backup sign-in method. These are opt-in conveniences — the platform never requires them. You can pause, log out of, or permanently delete your account from the Profile → Account tab at any time (see Section 13).
4. User Conduct
By using FlashChat, you agree not to:
Harass, threaten, bully, or intimidate other users
Share content involving minors in any sexual or exploitative context
Distribute illegal content, including CSAM, non-consensual intimate imagery, or content promoting violence or terrorism
Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity with malicious intent
Use the platform for spam, phishing, scams, or commercial solicitation
Attempt to exploit, hack, or interfere with the service or other users' experience
Transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code
Collect or harvest information about other users
Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the service
Abuse Flash Cards, Rooms, FlashBuddies, profile timelines, nudges, or FlashDating to harass or stalk specific users
Create multiple device profiles to evade moderation or bans
Violation of these rules may result in immediate disconnection, rate-limiting, or a permanent device-level block.
5. Content & Media
5.1 Self-Destructing Media
Photos and voice notes sent through FlashChat 1-on-1 chats are designed to self-destruct after a timer (3–10 seconds for photos, one-time play for voice notes). Media is transmitted via WebSocket relay and is not stored on any server.
5.2 GIFs and Stickers
GIFs and stickers are available in chats, Saved Chat, and Rooms, provided by Klipy, a third-party GIF service. Your browser searches and fetches GIF media directly from Klipy's servers. GIF content is governed by Klipy's terms and content policies.
5.3 Emoji Reactions and Message Replies
You may react to messages with emoji and reply directly to specific messages in a conversation. These interactions are relayed in real-time and not stored.
5.4 No Guarantee of Deletion
While FlashChat implements self-destruct timers and screenshot detection, we cannot guarantee that recipients have not saved, screenshotted, or recorded your content using device-level capabilities. Send media at your own risk.
5.5 User Responsibility
You are solely responsible for the content you share. Do not share content that you would not want permanently associated with you, as FlashChat cannot control what recipients do with received content.
6. Video & Voice Calls
FlashChat offers free anonymous video and voice-only calling between matched users using WebRTC technology, plus direct calls between FlashBuddies and a "Watch Together" mode for synchronised YouTube viewing during a chat. By using calls, you agree that:
You will not use video calls to display nudity, sexual content, or illegal material
You will not record or capture video call sessions without the other party's consent
When a direct peer-to-peer connection is not possible, calls may be routed through a TURN relay — Cloudflare's TURN service or our self-hosted relay server. Relays forward encrypted packets for connection purposes only; video/audio content is not stored or monitored
Group video calls in Rooms support up to 6 participants in a mesh topology
Watch Together plays YouTube videos through YouTube's embedded player, subject to YouTube's own terms
7. NSFW Content & Moderation
FlashChat uses AI-powered image classification to detect potentially sensitive (NSFW) content. Classification runs in your browser (TensorFlow.js) before an image can be sent, and a second automated check runs on our own servers for uploads such as Flash Card images, profile photos, and timeline photos — no image is ever sent to a third-party service for analysis. Images classified as potentially explicit are blurred with a warning overlay; recipients must actively choose to reveal them.
Adult (18+) content is permitted only in designated, labelled surfaces: Flash Cards explicitly marked NSFW and Rooms flagged 18+. Posting NSFW cards additionally requires standing karma, and untagged explicit content is blocked wherever detected.
NSFW visibility is a per-profile setting enforced on our servers — you can turn "Show NSFW cards" off at any time in Preferences, and 18+ Rooms require an in-app age confirmation before first join. These are self-declarations, not identity verification.
Explicit content remains prohibited in stranger chat, video calls, profile photos, and all other non-designated surfaces.
The NSFW detection system is not perfect. False positives and false negatives may occur, and detection does not constitute permission to share explicit content outside the designated surfaces.
Users who repeatedly share unwanted explicit content may be rate-limited or permanently blocked.
8. Flash Cards
Flash Cards are anonymous public posts visible to all FlashChat users. By posting a Flash Card, you agree that:
Your card content (text, tags, image, music or video embed) will be visible to all FlashChat users
If you turn on the optional location toggle, the city name resolved from your location is shown publicly on that card
Other users may heart your card, comment on it (including reactions and replies), or request a Spark Chat with you
Posting costs and some actions require karma, which is earned through positive engagement and tied to a verified email
Flash Cards must not contain prohibited content (see Section 22); NSFW cards must be marked as such (see Section 7)
Cards you create are stored in our database until you delete them
We reserve the right to remove cards that violate these Terms without notice
9. Saved Chat (Encrypted Buddy Messages)
Saved Chat lets you exchange persistent, end-to-end encrypted messages, photos, voice notes, and GIFs with your FlashBuddies. By using Saved Chat, you acknowledge that:
Messages are encrypted on your device before they reach us; our servers store only ciphertext they cannot read
All Saved Chat messages expire automatically within at most 24 hours of sending (shorter per-buddy timers are available), and you can unsend a message or clear a conversation at any time
Your encryption identity lives on one active device. You can move it to a new device with a one-time pairing code, or opt in to an encrypted key backup protected by your password — losing your device (and any backup password) means those messages cannot be recovered by anyone, including us
Encryption does not exempt content from these Terms — recipients can still report conversations, and prohibited content rules apply
10. FlashBuddies
FlashBuddies allows you to form persistent anonymous friendships with other users. By using FlashBuddies, you agree that:
Buddy connections are stored in our database and persist across sessions
You may send and receive buddy requests, accept or decline them at any time
Buddies can invite each other to chat, exchange Saved Chat messages (Section 9), start direct video or voice calls, and send nudges
FlashBuddies may not be used to stalk, harass, or repeatedly contact users who have declined or removed you
You may remove any FlashBuddy connection, or block a user, at any time from within the app
Buddy invitations to chat expire automatically after 2 hours if not accepted
11. FlashDating
FlashDating is an optional swipe-based matching feature. By creating a dating profile, you agree that:
You must be 18 or older — a date of birth is required and enforced — and have a verified email
Your dating profile (bio, prompts, photos, gender, and who you want to see) is shown to other FlashDating users matching your preferences
A mutual like connects you as FlashBuddies; there is no other way to contact someone through FlashDating
Dating profiles must be your own — impersonation, fake profiles, and solicitation are prohibited and reportable from the deck
You can pause or delete your dating profile at any time without affecting the rest of your account
12. Rooms
Rooms are persistent group chat spaces holding up to 50 members. By creating or joining a Room, you agree that:
Room messages are stored for room history while the room exists — private rooms are password-protected and members-only, but their messages are not end-to-end encrypted
Room creators and moderators may set room rules, pin messages, enable slow mode, promote or demote moderators, and remove members or messages that violate these Terms or the room's rules
Rooms flagged 18+ (NSFW) require an in-app age confirmation before first join (see Section 7)
Room creators are responsible for the content shared in their room; creating public rooms requires standing karma
Group video calls in Rooms (up to 6 participants) are not recorded or stored
Media shared in Rooms (photos, voice notes, GIFs) is subject to the same content policies as 1-on-1 chat
We reserve the right to close or remove any Room that violates these Terms
13. Profiles & Timelines
Optional user profiles allow you to set a nickname, @handle, avatar or photo, bio, and interests. Every profile also has a timeline — a public history of your posts, plus an optional photo strip and a wall where others can post. By creating a profile, you agree that:
Profile data is stored in our database and tied to your device ID
Your profile and timeline may be visible to other users in public contexts (buddy requests, Flash Cards, Rooms). You control who can view your timeline (everyone or buddies only) and who can post on your wall (nobody, buddies, or anyone — buddies by default) in Preferences
Wall posts left on your timeline are treated like Flash Cards, and you may delete anything on your own timeline
Nudges are lightweight pokes between users, rate-limited per pair; the same wall permissions apply
You may optionally add an email address — used for verification codes, account recovery, password reset, and as the identity key for karma
Profile content, photos, and timeline photos must not be misleading, impersonating, or contain prohibited material; uploaded photos are automatically moderated
You can pause your account (reversible, hides your content), or permanently delete it in-app from the Account tab — deletion removes your profile, cards, comments, hearts, buddy connections, and push subscriptions, while moderation and abuse-prevention audit records may be retained as required for compliance
14. Arcade & Casino
14.1 Arcade Games
The FlashChat Arcade provides free browser-based games (such as Neon Snake, Super Jump, 2048, Quiz Master, Memory Match, Tuk-Tuk Dash, Flappy Tap, Whac-A-Mole, Mine Mission, Stack Tower, and Grand Chess). The Arcade is provided for entertainment purposes only. High scores, personal bests, and daily-challenge progress may be saved in your browser and on our servers, tied to your randomly generated device identifier, to power optional leaderboards. No prizes, rewards, or items of monetary value are offered, and we make no warranties about the availability or functionality of any specific game.
14.2 Casino Mode (Virtual Chips — No Real Money)
FlashChat Casino is a free, simulated game-of-chance feature (including Crash, Limbo, Dice, Plinko, and Hi-Lo) played entirely with virtual chips that have no real-world or monetary value. It is not gambling: you cannot deposit, purchase, win, withdraw, or exchange real money, currency, or anything of value. Virtual chips cannot be bought, sold, or cashed out, are stored only in your browser, and reset automatically. Casino Mode is offered for entertainment and amusement only and, like the rest of FlashChat, is restricted to users aged 18 and over (Section 2). By using it, you additionally confirm that simulated-gaming features are permitted where you live; if they are not, you must not use this feature.
15. FlashBot & AI Companions
FlashChat includes AI-powered chat companions. FlashBot is the labelled companion; not every AI companion is explicitly labelled as a bot. AI companions are served only when no human partner is available in the matchmaking queue. By using FlashChat, you acknowledge that:
Some chat partners may be AI companions, and messages in those conversations are sent to Groq's inference API to generate responses (see the Privacy Policy, Section 6). Conversations between two human users are never sent to any AI provider
AI responses are machine-generated and may be inaccurate, inappropriate, or unexpected — they are not advice of any kind
You must not attempt to use AI companions for harmful, illegal, or prohibited purposes
AI companion conversations are not stored on our servers
A small number of Flash Cards each day are posted by automated accounts rather than by users. These are FlashBot (news, memes, music, jokes), AIBot (artificial-intelligence news), TechBot (consumer technology), NewsBot (general-interest news), SportsBot (sport) and MemeBot (memes). Their cards are AI-written or reposted from third-party sources (web search, Reddit, YouTube channel feeds), are automatically screened, and may nonetheless contain errors — they are not editorial or factual reporting. Each carries the posting account's name and handle on the card
16. FlashRadio & Podcasts
FlashRadio offers curated third-party internet radio stations and podcasts inside the app. Streams and podcast audio play directly from the broadcaster's or publisher's servers in your browser — FlashChat does not host, control, or take responsibility for that content, and station or episode availability may change without notice. Playback positions are stored only in your browser.
17. Privacy & Data
17.1 What We Do Not Collect
No real name, phone number, or government identifier
No plaintext passwords — the optional profile password is stored only as a salted hash
No 1-on-1 anonymous chat messages, images, or voice notes (relayed in real time, never stored)
No advertising cookies; analytics cookies only with your explicit consent
If you use optional features (Flash Cards, Profiles, Rooms, FlashBuddies, Saved Chat, FlashDating), associated data is stored — Saved Chat messages only as end-to-end encrypted ciphertext that expires within 24 hours. See our full Privacy Policy for details.
17.2 What We Process

Session state: Temporary IDs for reconnection, purged within 2 minutes of disconnection.

Optional feature data: Profile, timeline, Flash Card, Room, FlashBuddy, Saved Chat (ciphertext only), FlashDating, Arcade, and push-subscription data if you use those features.

The complete list, including embedded media and radio/podcast providers, is in the Privacy Policy, Section 7.
18. Intellectual Property
The FlashChat name, logo, design, and source code are the property of the FlashChat project. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the FlashChat platform without permission.
Content you share through FlashChat remains yours. By sending content, you grant FlashChat a temporary, limited license to transmit that content to your chat partner or room members for the sole purpose of delivering the message.
19. Disclaimers

AI companion responses or AI-generated content
Any other matter relating to the service
21. Termination

Since no mandatory accounts exist, "termination" means disconnection and/or device-level blocking from the service. You may stop using FlashChat at any time by simply closing the browser tab.
22. Prohibited Content
The following content is strictly prohibited on FlashChat across all features (chat, video, rooms, flash cards, timelines, dating profiles, and profiles):
Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) or any sexual content involving minors
Non-consensual intimate imagery ("revenge porn")
Content that promotes, glorifies, or incites violence, terrorism, or self-harm
Hate speech targeting race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability
Content designed to defraud, phish, or scam other users

23. Reporting to Authorities
FlashChat complies fully with Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. We will disclose user information to law enforcement or regulatory authorities when required by a lawful order. We actively report CSAM and terrorism-related content to the appropriate authorities without waiting for a formal order.
24. Grievance Redressal
As required by IT Intermediary Guidelines Rule 3(2), FlashChat has a Grievance Officer to address complaints from Indian users. You may file a grievance related to content, privacy, or platform issues at:
We aim to acknowledge grievances within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days as required by law.
25. Content Removal & Takedown

26. User Appeals
If you believe your content was removed or your access was restricted in error, you may appeal by contacting us at [email protected] with relevant details. We will review appeals within 15 days. Appeals for CSAM-related actions are not eligible for review.
27. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of FlashChat after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. For material changes, we will display a notice on the platform.
