Install FlashChat on your phone
FlashChat runs in any browser with nothing to install. If you want it on your phone like an app, add it to your home screen: it gets its own icon and opens full screen, with no app store, no download and no sign-up.
AndroidYou're on Android
Chrome installs FlashChat straight from the website. Nothing is downloaded from outside the browser.
Open in Chrome
Go to flashchat.fun in Chrome.
Open the menu
Tap the three dots at the top right.
Install
Tap Install app (on some phones it says Add to Home screen), then Install.
Android app file
You can also install the Android app from a file. Android asks for permission the first time, which is expected for any app installed from outside the Play Store.
- Tap download. Your browser saves a
.apkfile. - Open the finished download, or find it in Files → Downloads.
- Allow your browser to install apps when Android asks. The switch applies to that browser only, and you can turn it off afterwards.
- Tap Install, then Open.
Play Protect may show a warning. Google shows a caution screen for apps from outside the Play Store that it hasn't seen many times. Choose More details → Install anyway if you're happy to continue, or use the home-screen version above, which has every feature the app does.
The SHA-256 above is the checksum of the exact file this page links to, so you can confirm nothing changed in transit. The app file doesn't update itself: when a new version is out, the app links back here, and installing over the top keeps your chats, buddies and profile.
iPhone & iPadYou're on iPhone
There's no App Store listing yet. Adding FlashChat to your home screen gives it its own icon and a full-screen window.
Open in Safari
Go to flashchat.fun in Safari.
Tap Share
The square-with-an-arrow icon at the bottom of the screen.
Add to Home Screen
Scroll the share sheet and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
On a computerYou're on desktop
FlashChat works fully in your browser, so there's nothing to install. To put it on your phone, open flashchat.fun/download.html there.
You can also install it as a desktop app from the address bar in Chrome or Edge: look for the install icon on the right-hand side.
Common questions
Is the app different from the website?
No. It is the same FlashChat with the same features and the same anonymous identity. Installing it gives you an icon and a full-screen window.
Do I need an account?
No. FlashChat has never required sign-up. Your identity is generated on your device.
Is FlashChat on the Play Store or App Store?
Not yet. The home-screen version is the same FlashChat, and it is always the latest version because it loads from flashchat.fun each time you open it.
Is it safe to install?
Adding FlashChat to your home screen downloads no app file. The icon opens flashchat.fun inside your browser's own security sandbox, and you remove it like any other app.
