Play Snakes and Ladders Online with Friends
FlashChat Arcade has free Snakes and Ladders for 2 to 4 players, right in your browser. Share one link and friends join from their own phones, or play the computer, or pass one phone around. No app, no sign-up and no ads.
Ways to play
- With friends online. Up to four players. The host taps Start once two are in, and the game starts by itself when the fourth joins.
- Against the computer. One to three computer players fill the empty seats.
- On one phone. Two to four players take turns on the same screen.
Getting a game online
- Invite link. Tap Play people online and share the link, on WhatsApp or anywhere else. Anyone who opens it within 10 minutes takes a seat.
- FlashBuddy invite. With a FlashChat profile you can invite a FlashBuddy straight from the game. They get the invite in the app or as a notification.
- Find a player. Get matched with someone else who is looking for a game right now (a two-player game).
- From a chat. In a stranger chat, the + tray has a Play button that challenges the person you're talking to. The game opens over the chat, so the conversation keeps going.
The board and the rules
Online games use the classic 100-square board. Playing alone or on one phone, you can choose between three boards: Easy has fewer long snakes, and Hard adds two snakes and takes away the longest ladder and the one that reaches 100.
- Roll and move. Land at the foot of a ladder and you climb it; land on a snake’s head and you slide down.
- A six gives you another roll.
- You need the exact number to land on 100. A roll that would take you past it doesn’t move you.
- The first to reach 100 wins, and the others are placed in the order they finish.
Fair dice in online games
Online, the server rolls, so every phone sees the same roll and no phone can change it. Each turn has 30 seconds: a missed turn is rolled for you, and someone who misses three turns in a row or leaves drops out while the rest play on.
What it costs
Nothing: no ads, no coins and no account. More board games in the Arcade: Ludo, Chess and Connect Four.
